Interview:
1. What is the name of your latest book? Tell us about it.
Me & Mr. Jones. It’s different from my first novel, Emerald Green, because the romance is forbidden. Finley O’Connell, the main character, is thrust into a dangerous situation with her new college professor. And despite the level of suspense, there is so much temptation dangling overhead. You really want one of them to just pick the apple and take a bite already.
2. What genre(s) do you typically write in and why?
Young Adult and New Adult. Romance must lie at the heart of either though, because that’s what keeps me writing. I also crave an element of suspense, so every novel I’ve written so far has fallen into the Romantic Thriller category.
3. How do you come up with book titles and character names?
Usually, it starts with one scene in my head, between the female lead and her love interest. The book title either hits me right away or appears throughout the writing process. As far as character names go, they usually come from whatever book I’m reading at the time or a movie I might have recently watched. They can really come from anywhere though. When a certain name clicks in my head, I know that’s the one.
4. Which books are you currently reading?
I’ve just recently gotten into Cassandra Clare’s The Mortal Instruments series over the past month or so. I saw the movie with Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower the other day and just had to read the books. I plan to read the Splintered series by A. G. Howard right after. The book covers have the most striking, beautiful artwork, and I’m always infatuated by anything that has to do with Alice in Wonderland
5. If you hadn’t decided to become a writer, what would you have chosen instead?
A psychologist, fitness instructor, or personal chef.
6. What advice do you have for aspiring authors?
Don’t ever stop writing. Hone your craft as young as possible and surround yourself with like-minded individuals who believe in you and your stories, and view the written word as an art form.
7. When can we expect to see your next book?

Well… I’m currently working on the follow-up to Emerald Green, which will be the second installment in that series, as well as the sequel to Me & Mr. Jones. As far as the next release goes, you’ll just have to wait and see…
