Dream Literary Collection

I was contacted by Ryan of Invaluable.com to ask if I was interested in doing this blog post. My dream literary collection. I went onto the site and browsed through the things that they have to offer. They have a lot of cool stuff on that site up for auction like collectibles, jewelry, artwork, and rare books - Invaluables Rare Books . The books below are the ones I found on their site that I would love to own. (Following photos from Invaluable.com)

1. Peter Pan by J. M. Barrie

I haven't actually read this yet, but I would like to. And to have a beautiful edition like this would be wonderful.

2.  The Secret Garden

I haven't read the book but I know the story. To read the book in this old edition would be great.

3. New Hampshire by Robert Frost

In all honesty, I don't know what this book is. Poetry or some of his prose work. I've only ever read his poetry but I love it so to have this would be terrific.

4. Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier

Now, this book I have read. I read it back in 9th grade an I absolutely love it. It has been one of my favorites ever since. This edition from 1938 (I'm pretty sure a fist edition) would be an exceptional addition to my library.

Those are the books from Invaluable.com but since this is my dream literary collection I had to say some of the others that I would love in my collection. (These images are taken from Google Images.)

1. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

I have no idea if a first edition of Wuthering Heights is even around anymore (to buy) but this is my dream collection so the first thing on the list is a first edition of Wuthering Heights. This is my favorite book of all time so this is a MUST.

2. The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton

My second favorite book is The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton. I REALLY want to find a first edition of this book. I have the 40th anniversary edition which is the same cover (in honor of 40 years) but I still would love to have a first edition. And even better, a SIGNED one.

3. The entire Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling

I already own these books (then again, I already own Wuthering Heights and The Outsiders) but I would LOVE to have SIGNED first editions of these!! They complete my top three favorite books (even though this is a series.)

4. Hamlet by William Shakespeare

This is my favorite Shakespeare play. I own several editions of this but I would LOVE to own the earliest copy that I could find!!

5. Poems by Emily Dickinson

Today I own Selected Poems by Emily Dickinson as well as The Collected Poems. Emily Dickinson us my favorite poet so to have a first edition of this would be incredible.

6. Great Expectations by Charles Dickens

I also adore Great Expectations since I read it in 9th grade. I have a copy of this but how amazing would a FIRST edition be??

7. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

This is another one of my favorites so of course a first edition is on the list. And signed would be even better.

8. The Vampire Diaries by L. J. Smith

(I apologize for the placement of the pictures. Blogger did not want to cooperate with me.) The original Vampire Diaries quartet is one of my favorite series of all time. (I love the other books, too, but there is something about the first four.) I have all four in their omnibus editions but I would love to own the original editions of these. And would LOVE it if they were SIGNED.

Okay, this was way longer than I thought that it would be. But hey, dream literary collection? I just couldn't help myself. Go check out Invaluable.com to find some great treasures, not only books but much more. This is a great site if you are a collector. Who knows what you could find?

And let me know in the comments, what is YOUR dream literary collection?

    1. They do look awesome. I would love to have those!! That sounds pretty awesome. Honestly, I still have yet to read Flowers in the Attic or any Judy Blume book... :/ But I do have two Judy Blume books on my nook. You recommended them to me.
